You will act as the Facilities Management subject matter expert, providing advice on site infrastructure issues pertaining to the advancement of the campus clinical mission. Your background includes: Masters degree in Engineering or a related field Seven (7) to ten (10) years recent, related progressive supervisory and management experience in a large complex unionized environment An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable Preference will be given if you have excellent interpersonal skills, can clearly and concisely articulate information tailored to the audience, strong technical writing abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Location Surrey Memorial Hospital, Surrey, BC Detailed Overview Responsible for overseeing the daily operational management and/or maintenance of designated physical plants for Fraser Health in a manner consistent with industry best practices, ensuring a safe and reliable environment for healthcare-related services. Responsibilities Establishes, develops and implements department goals, objectives and operational requirements aligned with Fraser Health strategy; reviews current operations and develops systems and processes for effective facilities operations. Develops and implements annual operating and capital budgets; monitors expenditures, performs variance analysis and reports findings; takes corrective actions as required. Manages recruitment, mentoring and professional development of staff and contract employees; supervises staff, provides work direction, conducts performance evaluations and coaching. Investigates performance issues and initiates disciplinary actions when needed; participates in grievance processes and labour relations matters as required. Oversees maintenance programs, applying planning/scheduling techniques and risk mitigation to deliver preventive, predictive and responsive maintenance; ensures CMMS use. Procures and manages external service providers; negotiates and monitors contracts for maintenance, grounds and renovation work. Manages construction/renovation projects; coordinates with stakeholders to meet requirements and minimize facilities impacts. Oversees policies, procedures and programs to comply with codes, regulations and standards; supports Planning and Capital Projects teams. Develops and maintains stakeholder relations; prioritizes capital renewal plans; contributes as a Fraser Health SME within area of expertise. Participates in business continuity planning with clinical leadership and Emergency Management. Ensures facilities meet energy conservation, carbon footprint reduction, LEED and other environmental standards. Provides support in infrastructure, technical standards, systems commissioning, contract management, and safety or integrity management as assigned. Complies with health and safety requirements and reports unsafe situations promptly. Qualifications Education and Experience Masters degree in Engineering or related field with seven (7) to ten (10) years of related supervisory/management experience in a large, complex unionized environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
