Job Description

Job Type and Location Full-Time; Primary Office Location: Listowel. This position will require some shared time between Listowel and Granton, Ontario for training purposes. Overview Avonbank is a leading agricultural dealership specializing in facility design, installation, and services for the dairy industry. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and oversee the companys financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Work closely with external accountants to generate review engagement year-end financial statements. Accounting: Prepare monthly adjusting entries in the companys ERP system, Spire, including labour allocations, inventory release, accruals, intercompany, amortization, etc. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and support business operations. Manage ongoing relationship with Avonbanks banking partner. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. Tax Compliance: Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and optimize the companys tax position. Financial Systems Management: Oversee and enhance financial systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Collaboration: Work closely with the Owner, Managers, and team members across departments to provide meaningful financial insights and contribute to effective decision-making. Qualifications Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or related field; CPA designation is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably within the agriculture or related industries. Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and taxation. Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Proficient in Excel and ERP systems. Experience with Spire Systems Inc. accounting business management software is considered an asset. Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
