Job Description

Overview Location: Surrey, B.C. | Regular/Full-Time Cloud Technology Engineer position with BC Housing, a provincial Crown Corporation. This role supports the organizations cloud strategy by designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures, evaluating emerging cloud technologies, and providing recommendations for adoption. The role provides architectural oversight of cloud workloads, supports evaluation and recommendation of cloud services and tools, maintains cloud solution documentation and standards, and enforces cloud governance frameworks. The position also drives cloud migration initiatives and optimizes cloud performance by reengineering solutions. Responsibilities Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures. Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and provide recommendations for adoption. Provide architectural oversight of cloud workloads and maintain cloud solution documentation and standards. Establish and enforce cloud governance frameworks. Drive cloud migration initiatives and optimize cloud performance through solution reengineering. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant discipline. Extensive experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and administration/configuration of enterprise-grade IT infrastructure in a corporate environment. Experience planning, researching, designing, and qualifying cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of Microsoft and Oracle environments. Extensive knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery in the cloud. Experience deploying applications and containers using public cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Experience building CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools and techniques. Knowledge of Oracle WebLogic, RDBMS; Java/J2E, Oracle ADF; .NET / SQL Server; Linux. Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure as code (Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates). Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational and time-management skills. Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and influence decisions. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and deliver on time and within budget. Ability to plan and execute migration to cloud services aligned with organizational strategy.
