Overview Structural Design Engineer (Existing Building Engineering) RJC Engineers, Kelowna Office Location: Kelowna Office 1626 Richter Street, Suite 214, Kelowna BC V1Y 2M3 Start Date: Immediately Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 (Dependent on experience). Candidate Profile: As a member of our building science & restoration team, you will apply your skills to solve problems in an existing building environment. Our work enhances resilient design and extends the service life of existing buildings, thereby reducing embodied carbon in our built environment. You will forge relationships with clients and staff, demonstrate responsiveness, maintain technical excellence, and leverage your knowledge and experience. Key Responsibilities Work closely with Project Engineers within the project team environment, through the life cycle of a project from conceptual and preliminary design through to completion. Engage in site investigation, evaluation of existing buildings, preparation of reports and studies. Structural engineering of existing building components including architectural features, building equipment, and building enclosure components. Structural analysis of existing building structure for revised loading conditions and seismic upgrade situations. Coordinate with other engineering and architectural disciplines to facilitate projects as prime consultant; assist the client in developing construction strategies for repair/upgrade work. Contract administration/construction review of the work you design. Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis, including basic project costing. Follow quality control procedures established by the practice.
