We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory and Shipping Specialist to join our Hamilton operations team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate inventory management, efficient order fulfillment, and timely shipment of materials. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, hands-on experience with warehouse operations, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced industrial or distribution environment. Responsibilities Inventory Management - Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and reconciliations. Record inventory movements in ERP or warehouse management systems. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventory. Coordinate with purchasing, production, and sales teams to ensure materials availability. Assist in developing and maintaining efficient storage systems for materials and finished goods. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or other heavy machinery as needed to move and organize steel inventory. Shipping and Receiving - Collaborate with procurement, production, quality control, and sales departments to ensure smooth workflow and on-time order fulfillment. Schedule and manage inbound/outbound shipments with freight providers, ensuring on-time deliveries and pickups. Verify and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and accuracy. Maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs paperwork (as required). Load and unload trucks using appropriate material-handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack). Continuous Improvement and Compliance - Develop and implement best practices to streamline warehouse and logistics operations. Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse conditions. Requirements Minimum 2-3 years of experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills with attention to detail. Knowledge of shipping regulations and logistics best practices. Experience operating material handling equipment (forklift, crane certification preferred).
