A leading real estate services firm is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its property management accounting team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee accounting operations for a diverse commercial property portfolio while guiding a team and contributing to strategic financial decision-making. Its ideal for professionals with strong property management accounting expertise, a leadership mindset, and the ability to navigate complex, multi-entity environments.About the RoleReporting to a senior finance leader, this position oversees financial planning, reporting, and operational accounting processes for a portfolio that spans multiple asset classes and geographic locations. The role combines team leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and hands-on oversight of financial accuracy, compliance, and cash management.What Youll DoLead and support a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to drive high performance.Oversee the preparation, review, and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.Manage day-to-day financial operations, including cash flow monitoring, funding requirements, and distribution schedules.Review financial statements, reconciliations, and reports to ensure compliance with standards and internal controls.Support audits and year-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of required documentation.Maintain and update accounting policies, procedures, and training resources to ensure consistency and efficiency.Coordinate with other departments to address financial matters, resolve issues, and improve cross-functional processes.Participate in special projects, process improvements, and other initiatives as needed.What You BringPost-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related discipline; professional designation is an asset.Proven leadership experience in accounting, ideally within property management or a related industry.Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and multi-entity cash management.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience with industry-standard property management accounting systems is an asset.Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Why JoinYoull have the opportunity to work with a collaborative team in a respected, growth-focused organization.
