Overview Join to apply for the Project Technologist role at Pinchin in Canada St. Catharines, ON Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials and Indoor Environmental Quality team in our St. Catharines Office. Responsibilities Complete assessments of buildings for designated substances (asbestos, lead, mercury, silica, etc.) and other hazardous materials such as mould and PCBs, complete mould, indoor air quality (IAQ) and industrial hygiene assessments. Conduct interviews with clients regarding building history and site-specific client concerns Perform inspections and evaluate building systems Assess building damages related to floods, water losses, smoke and fire Assist clients following flood and loss emergencies to get buildings dried, cleaned or remediated and operational Collect mould and bacteria samples Identify and sample suspect asbestos, lead and PCB-containing materials Record the type, quantity and location of specific building materials/equipment Collect bulk, wipe and air samples for laboratory analysis Interpret sample results in relation to legislative requirements and industry accepted guidelines Prepare detailed reports and drawings documenting findings and provide recommendations to address hazardous materials concerns Inspect abatement and restoration contractors undertaking mould, asbestos and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completed Collect and analyze Phase Contract Microscope (PCM) asbestos air samples Liaise between clients, contractors and Pinchin Project Managers Develop and maintain positive client relationships Maintain and enhance quality control within the group by ensuring accuracy in reporting and sample collection Qualifications College diploma in Environmental, Construction or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Engineering or equivalent is preferred Experience with building construction or maintenance is preferred Strong experience with AutoCAD preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) Exceptional oral and written communication skills Self-directed and mature Excellent organizational skills High attention to detail Must be able to read technical specifications, drawings and reports Valid drivers license, insurance and a personal vehicle required Availability to travel to clients sites (short-term work-related travel) Availability to work outside of core business hours Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends Whats In It For You Of course, we offer competitive salaries and great benefits, but what makes Pinchin stand out from the crowd?
