Senior Accounting Manager Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting & Planning, the Sr Manager, Accounting will play a pivotal role in overseeing the accounting operations for the Foundation. Pay Range Base pay range: CA$90,000.00/yr - CA$105,000.00/yr Job Overview As the Sr Manager, Accounting you will lead the full end-to-end accounting cycle, including cash management, accounts payable, deferred accounts, month-end and year-end close, and regulatory filings such as the T3010 Registered Charity Information Return and AGCO lottery reporting. You will serve as primary contact for external audits and prepare GAAP financial statements. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, including cash management, accounts payable, deferred accounts, general ledger, and month-end close. Prepare monthly event accounting financial statements within a prescribed ten-day business close. Conduct monthly balance sheet analysis, reconciliation, and provide variance commentary. Review year-end entries, including management fees, sponsorship, deferred events revenue, and deferred lottery expenses in accordance with GAAP. Prepare annual event accounting and GAAP financial statements. Oversee life insurance policy updates and related accounting. Review HST/GST returns. Manage full-cycle accounting for the lottery program, including monthly accrual reviews, deferred lottery asset management, and revenue recognition upon program closure. Own lottery reporting for the PMCF Audit & Risk Committee. Support the external audit process and serve as primary point of contact for audit requests. Maintain integrity of books within NetSuite, ensuring accurate data and robust control environment. Support key finance projects and identify best practices, including electronic workflow and digitization. Ensure policies and procedures documentation is complete and updated. Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including banking partners and accounting software provider. Provide other support as required by the Senior Director, Finance and VP, Finance. Qualifications A post-secondary degree in accounting or finance. 5+ years of progressive experience supporting a full end-to-end accounting function. A CPA designation is mandatory. Experience working for a Canadian not-for-profit with in-depth knowledge of ASNPO accounting standards. Experience in a public accounting firm or audit-like environment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience preparing a T3010 return. Experience with NetSuite (Oracle) an asset. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing tasks. High proficiency with Microsoft tools, especially Excel. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A successful track record of fostering a highly motivated team within a positive culture. High attention to detail and strong accountability.
