SGS is currently looking for a Construction Quality Coordinator for one of our clients. This is a contract position that requires an independent contractor (IC). The Construction Quality Coordinator (CQC) is the Companys authorized representative and works in parallel with the Construction Manager/Assistant Construction Manager and the team to successfully execute construction projects at a high level of safety and quality. The CQC provides guidance during the construction phase, aids in establishing a quality culture, and continuously reviews project status, records, and processes to assure conformance with the Project Quality Plan (PQP). Roles and Responsibilities Actively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recognize obstacles to improve safety and efficiency of construction activities. Conduct preaudit checks of all construction records, including inspector certifications, contractor PQP conformance, and overall PQP compliance. Ensure all safety, environmental, and quality expectations and general policies are upheld during construction. Document required results via inspector reports or Contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITP). Work with the contractor to create and review Contractor turnover binders, ensuring ongoing compliance. Collaborate with the CMT to identify nonconformances and recommend corrective actions. Immediately stop work activity when unsafe conditions are observed and notify contractor supervision. Verify that the contractor is implementing their Quality Plan and compliant with Safe Work Practices and Job Safety/Hazard Analysis. Oversee quality inspection staff to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and contractual requirements. Ensure ITPs are completed as work progresses and documentation is accepted by TC Energy. Track and implement stakeholder and local community commitments within the contractors scope. Advocate for quality deliverables by fostering a positive work environment and a proactive quality culture. Monitor quality at the work site, influence corrective action with the contractor or inspection staff, and identify nonconformance issues. Provide QA/QC leadership, expertise, and guidance to project personnel and participate in incident investigations. Manage construction quality documentation records and identify innovation and value creation opportunities. Participate in lessons learned, closeout meetings, site safety and quality walkdowns, and note discrepancies. Interface with the contractors personnel to ensure codes, standards, and design adherence. Champion effective utilization of QA/QC processes (NCR, MOC, LL, RFI, etc.) and complete daily inspection reports in accordance with Company Inspection Standards. Perform or participate in quality audits/assessments to ensure conformance with requirements.
