Inclusion We provide equitable opportunities for everyone. Opportunity Aecon seeks an Environmental Coordinator for a transformative infrastructure project within the Greater Toronto Area. This role is essential to maintain compliance, support project decisions, and promote an inclusive culture. Responsibilities Maintain the Environmental Management System and ensure compliance with regulations, EMPs, and site-specific plans. Provide reports and attend on-site meetings as required. Manage data collection, storage, and analysis. Oversee daily construction activities to ensure compliance with all relevant client requirements and regulations. Develop, implement, and monitor environmental programs and policies. Provide advice to project leadership regarding environmental matters related to construction activities. Monitor construction activities and evaluate compliance with applicable standards, contract documents, and client commitments. Monitor and report potential environmental issues and recommend mitigation and corrective actions. Provide training to employees and contractors on environmental awareness. Draft, review, and submit daily field reports, incident reports, and compliance audits. Track key project performance indicators and develop reports. Work with project coordinators/managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed in accordance with an established scope of work. Qualifications Technical diploma, B.Sc., or equivalent with a minimum of three years experience conducting construction site environmental monitoring activities. Certification in environmental specialty area preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Relevant professional certification (e.g., PBiol, BIT, Trainee RBTech, AAg, EPt, etc.) or ability to obtain is an asset. Experience working successfully in large, multi-disciplinary engineering design teams and heavy civil construction teams. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, coordinating resources as well as the ability to solve problems. Strong knowledge of Provincial and Federal regulations, codes, permits and approvals, and their technical application. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint). Champion of inclusion and diversity. A valid drivers license.
