WestJet is a highly skilled team looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to contribute to the safe and efficient daily maintenance on our fleet of aircraft Boeing 787, 737 NG, 737 MAX, and De Havilland Dash 8400 (Q400). Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License required (M2 preferred) Minimum 2 years experience and/or endorsed on Boeing 737 and/or 787 and/or Q400, or equivalent type of aircraft is preferred Proven technical aptitude with strong airframe, powerplant, and flight control experience required Legally entitled to work in Canada (must hold a Canadian Passport or Permanent Residency and/or open work permit with PR card in process) Must be able to obtain Radio Licence within 6 months of employment The physical ability to lift 62 lbs and be able to sit, kneel and stand for extended periods of time Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions including temperature extremes, confined spaces, working at heights and in a noisy workspace Ability to maintain a positive fit test to wear all safety and protective equipment including (but not limited) to a respirator apparatus Flexibility to work shift work (night shifts, weekends and holidays) including overtime when necessary Must be able to travel for situations where base coverage and/or rescue trips are required Strong computer knowledge and skills using various Maintenance programs and Microsoft Office Applications Conditions of Employment Obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) issued by Transport Canada Obtain and maintain Airside Vehicle Operators Permits (AVOP).
