OverviewSenior Transportation Design Engineer to join our Municipal team in British Columbia. This role involves working with multi-discipline project teams, managing design staff, and providing technical and engineering design support for a variety of projects locally and across the province. We are a collaborative team with a flexible approach, offering various projects and cross-functional opportunities.What youll doPreparing and contributing to transportation studies for provincial and municipal roads, transit planning studies, conceptual plans, functional and/or conceptual design, as well as functional and preliminary design activities.Liaising with clients, project team members, technical agencies, and road authorities to develop creative and effective solutions.Lead the delivery of Transportation Design projects, including Municipal, Transit, and Private Development projects.Collaborate with a team of transportation/traffic engineers, planners, and designers, as well as other technical disciplines, to develop and implement multi-modal planning and design solutions.Oversee and conduct site plan reviews for projects ranging from small to large developments to ensure functionality based on municipal design standards, including parking and loading.Lead the delivery of construction and traffic management plans following BC MOT and TAC/municipal design standards.Responsible for quality assurance and control, adhering to design standards and best practices.Supervise, train, and mentor junior and intermediate employees.Engage in continuous knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring to develop your skills and career.Participate in business development initiatives, including research, preparing input for proposals, and coordinating input from the multi-disciplinary team.Other duties as assigned/required.What youll bringA professional interest in sustainable transportation and contributing to the planning and design of mobility solutions that support climate change mitigation goals.Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Transportation Engineering.Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia (P. Eng.).Minimum 8 years of progressive transportation design-related experience.Strong communication skills (writing and presentations).Leadership and coordination abilities within a team environment.Experience using AutoCAD and AutoTURN is an asset.Experience with transportation software and methods (e.g., Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, CCG, VISSIM, Aimsun) is an asset.Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and independently.CompensationSalary range (in British Columbia): $96,200 - $132,200The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
