Post-Doctoral Fellow (South Asian Studies) - Competition ID: 4349 Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) invites applications for 12 postdoctoral fellowships focusing on South Asian diaspora literature and cinema. Fellows will work under Dr. Asma Sayed, Canada Research Chair in South Asian Literary and Cultural Studies, and contribute to research, grant proposals, community outreach, and student mentorship. Summary The appointment is a fulltime, 35hour contract for an initial year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The position is hybrid, requiring some presence on the KPU Surrey campus. Parttime work will also be considered. Key Responsibilities Researching and cowriting multiple entries on Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Sri Lankan diaspora literature and/or film Assisting with organizing conferences, workshops, and symposiums Coauthoring articles and/or books with the supervisor Mentoring undergraduate students regarding researchrelated skills (writing, researching, editing, etc.) Maintaining regular office hours virtually Qualifications Ph.D. in English, Comparative Literature, or Cultural Studies Expertise in South Asian diaspora literature, especially Pakistani, Bangladeshi, or Sri Lankan studies Experience with writing and publishing scholarly work Experience working with undergraduate students Ability to work independently and in groups Ability to manage and mentor teams of students Strong writing and communication skills Application Applicants should submit a CV and up to three publication samples with their application.
