OverviewGeneral Manager Metals Recycling FacilityLocation: Fort Saint JohnSalary: $130,000 $140,000Team Size: 15 people on siteAbout the RoleWere seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead operations at our metals recycling facility in Fort Saint John. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, youll oversee all aspects of the sites performance, lead a dedicated team, and drive business growth through exceptional customer service and operational excellence.DutiesLead and manage yard operations and staffWork with the Regional Manager and VP, Operations to set annual budget for the yard, taking into account: equipment condition; environmental necessities; operational needs; business growthProactively identify and pursue new business prospects for the company and develop existing relationships to achieve growth in volume and market shareOversee environmental, health & safety programs and processes to create a safe environment for all employees, customers and visitorsMeasure and report service and operational data and partner with corporate subject matter experts to enhance key performance measuresSet and manage annual budgets in collaboration with senior leadershipDrive business development and customer growthEnsure compliance with environmental, health & safety standardsOversee HR functions including training and performance managementImplement continuous improvement initiativesCollaborate with other locations and corporate teams to expand servicesRequirements5+ years in operations / distribution management, including team leadership3+ years managing a profit centerAdept at sales and business development and proven ability to win new customers and accountsExperience with continuous improvement programsProficiency in MS Office and business softwareScrap metal industry experience is an assetPost-secondary education in a related field is an assetEntrepreneurial mindset and collaborative spirit #J-18808-Ljbffr
