Job Description

About the Role The Shoreline Construction Shift Manager is accountable for the direct execution of construction work on the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program at Bruce Power. The role supervises shift crew, coordinates construction activities, and ensures compliance with Aecons safety, quality, and human performance programs. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the entire shift crew, including Project Coordinators, General Forepersons, trades, tooling SMEs, QC, and Safety Advisors. Drive compliance with project plans and schedules, resolve issues, and identify and mitigate risks. Interface with Bruce Power work coordinators, construction oversight, engineering, quality, and the Operations Control Center. Communicate directly to the Project Manager or Execution Director to enforce project policies, protocols, and escalation procedures. Enforce safety, quality, and human performance programs; ensure the project is constructed in accordance with drawings, specifications, comprehensive work packages (CWPs), and inspection & test plans (ITPs). Monitor and manage risks, develop recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are jeopardized. Assume responsibility for productivity of direct hire trade labor and subcontractors; efficient use of materials and tools & equipment and contractual performance. Requirements Minimum of 5 years construction and subcontractor supervision experience. Knowledge of all aspects of constructiontechnology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements. Experience managing major refurbishment or complex nuclear projects. Experience managing and working in a large joint venture. Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Full appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
