What this job involves : Responsibilities JLL is currently seeking a Health Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Manager to join our nation-wide team. This HSSE Manager will support a new account for a client based in Calgary. Periodic travel to various operations sites throughout Canada to investigate events or problems and for various meetings may be (estimated 20% to 40% travel). Candidates must be located in the vicinity of Calgary and available to work out of the clients office as required (Downtown). Become the primary point of contact for HSSE requirements and activities for the account. Communicate HSSE needs and results to the Account Leadership Team. Maintain documentation describing the HSSE program (playbooks, procedures, etc.) and records required by JLL regulation and the client. Support completion and maintenance of Hazard / PPE Assessments for all account locations. Typical hazards for employees working on this team include electrical safety, lone worker, work at heights, and driving safety. Support environmental compliance program (e.g., refrigerant management, fuel storage tank management). Act as a subject matter expert to support on-site client compliance. Create and maintain a regulatory compliance register for each account location. Lead development and refinement of JLLs HSSE culture and training programs on the account. Develop the account training matrix; manage and assign the online training requirements; provide training/presentations as needed on topics applicable to account employees. Ensure accidents, injuries, near misses, and other events are captured and the data is managed and reported. Lead or support investigations of HSSE events, analyze root causes, support and track corrective actions, and prepare communications to share lessons learned across the account operations. Support the HSSE Americas team in rolling out new compliance and best management practices programs across the account and occasionally support JLL-wide HSSE activities. Other duties as reasonably assigned. Qualifications 7 years of experience in similar role. Degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or relevant field (degree may be waived if). 10 years experience or hold HSSE professional certification. Proven record of success with project management skills for balancing multi-site activities. Broad-based knowledge of Environmental Safety and Occupational Health regulations. Our clients are federally and provincially regulated entities and our employees are provincially regulated. Experience with public institution facilities and union environments preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills. A proven record of making presentations and providing effective training. Ability to effectively and cooperatively interface with peers, colleagues, and clients. Analytical and creative problem-solving skills and ability to employ intelligent flexibility. Preferred Qualifications Relevant professional certification(s) a plus. Experience from Oil and Gas industry is preferred. Experience working in both regulatory frameworks; experience with environmental compliance requirements associated with facility management is preferred.
