Overview Production Manager Winnipeg, MB We are hiring a Production Manager for one of our food and beverage clients based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all work within manufacturing, including material processing, welding, assembly, and painting. You will provide expertise in production efficiencies, manufacturing processes, as well as mentorship to the members of the production team for personnel management. This role requires an active, hands-on approach, providing leadership within the different areas of production and actively identifying and implementing improvements within the manufacturing process. Responsibilities Works closely with all team members within production, as well as the engineering group, safety, and human resources, reporting directly to the Operations/Plant Manager Proactively work to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe all governmental, regional and company safety and health regulations Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed, including environmental and social governance Communicate corporate policy and news in a positive way Collaborate with internal team members to develop and ensure quality standards, production timelines and customer needs are met Manage and provide guidance to the material processing, welding, assembly, and Painting Leaders, and delegate and coordinate work between the departments accordingly Perform root cause analysis, intervention and corrective action regarding the prevention of manufacturing issues and concerns Oversee the planning, monitoring and results of all job activities on the shop floor Manage and evaluate equipment and resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime Constantly strive to reduce costs via OPEX / Lean / cost reduction / process improvement activities, be a lean champion and a lean cheerleader. Demonstrate Lean Leadership educate, ask questions, drive implementation and conduct weekly Gemba walks Some travel may be required Requirements Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations Management, or a combination of education and experience is required 5+ years in a similar role in a manufacturing environment, in a management level position Certification in Lean, Six Sigma or similar program is a plus Previous experience with material and inventory management Previous experience in metal fabrication and processing Strong leadership experience and ability to coach and mentor others What We Offer Why apply through Brunel?
