Intelligence Support Analyst II and Screening Officer Job Summary The Intelligence Support Analyst II is responsible for conducting research and analysis in an assigned area of responsibility and, with support from senior analysts, produce timely and strategic intelligence assessments to decision makers and partner institutions on threats to Canada and Canadian interests abroad. The major responsibilities include: Under the guidance of a supervisor, gather, evaluate, and organize material from intelligence and other classified or open sources, to support the achievement of defined analytical requirements. Under the guidance of an Intelligence Analyst, draft analytical intelligence products for review on current and emerging issues, with a nexus to Canada, in response to requirements established by management. In concert with an Intelligence Analyst, develop recommendations to support briefings directed towards decision-makers, foreign officers and other government clients. Select relevant research findings and make recommendations for inclusion in intelligence analysis and assessment presentations on topics of expertise directed towards peers. Develop and maintain a working knowledge and expertise, and keep apprised of developments in relevant threat environments. Responsibilities Review security screening requests, analyze and evaluate all related information, recommend methods for additional information collection and provide fact-based security assessment. Produce various documents/reports/briefing materials to support program reviews, management processes and decisions; report on files addressed, trends identified and meetings with partners. Analyze file conclusions and/or timeliness of responses to assist partners with overall program evaluations/audits/litigated cases. Plan, organize and deliver presentations/training to internal stakeholders and external partners on screening processes and/or cases; develop training/reference materials. Liaise with internal and external partners to discuss specific file issues and to exchange/maintain knowledge of business best practices/processes and area/geographic security concerns; provide security screening advice to clients and partners. Participate on national and international interdepartmental committees, external forums and/or working groups. Please indicate clearly in your application for which position(s) you are applying to. You may apply to one or both positions. Education Undergraduate degree and two (2) years of experience (as defined below). College diploma and five (5) of years of experience (as defined below). The undergraduate degree/college diploma must be in a relevant field of studies, such as but not limited to political science, policy management, public affairs, or sociology. It must be obtained from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada, you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. Experience Experience in conducting research, integrating, evaluating and analyzing information and data, and analysis, supporting the production of written reports making recommendations for decision-makers in a national security, policy or intelligence environment. Experience in preparing and presenting briefing material for immediate supervisors to advance a file or project and develop appropriate recommendations. Experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as intelligence agencies or government agencies/departments. Any higher level of education (i.e.: Masters) in a related field of study, as such as but not limited to political science, policy management, public affairs, or sociology, could be recognized as experience.
