We are hiring for a Biologist (Natural Systems Specialist) to join our growing team. The Specialist will be responsible for leading and overseeing the successful delivery of complex projects within the organization, ensuring that they are executed according to scope, schedule, cost, quality standards, and risk management protocols. Location: Toronto, ON Your role within the team: Supports natural environment programs within the LIFT Program, including tree-planting, wildlife management, plant management, and species at risk; Confirms that the overall program and design strategy considers and responds to the principles of sustainable development, and natural exterior/interior design features; Confirms that the design considers self-sustaining natural ecosystems and infrastructure requirements, balancing ecological development with maintenance and wildlife management considerations; Coordinates with Stakeholder Relations and Communications (SR&C), natural resources management teams, and external stakeholders on all areas of sustainability strategy; Confirms that the approach to the relevant works is consistent with Airport client's vision and strategy for a sustainable, carbon-positive, and environmentally friendly future; Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of client's staff. The ideal candidate: A recognized degree in related engineering, planning, or sustainability field and professional certification (PE, CEM, LEED AP, ENV SP); Typically, a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the environment, energy, or sustainable design sector; Experience of delivering sustainability outcomes in the infrastructure sector. Experience in large complex programs considered an asset; Demonstrable understanding of sustainability with a particular interest in protection of natural environment and integration of natural systems in an urban/commercial setting; Demonstrable understanding of sustainability/ESG management, and disclosure standards and guidance; Demonstrable experience in sustainable resource management, and environmental protection; Strong technical capability in all project phases and ability to solve complex problems including by using data analytics to support solution identification.
