This person will be responsible for assisting all staff with their daily functions and provide support for newer, less experienced members of the team. This position may also assist the CPC Operations Manager in the performance of some administrative functions for the office.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist staff for all key duties and responsibilities on a regular basis.Review invoices, manifests and other supporting documents for conformity to customs and corporate regulationsAssist staff with complex inquiries from both Internal and External customersEnsure client instructions are understood and followedObtain all customs paperwork, commercial invoices, etc. from customers when requiredAssist the growth (mentoring) within the department/branchAssist CPC Operations Manager with tasks related to customsSupport Operations release with PGA inquires when necessaryAccurately and timely process CBSA releases for all modes of transport Ensuring accurate and timely accounting of import transactions in compliance with CBSA reporting deadlines Enter data from commercial invoices and other supporting documentation into the ITMR4 operating systemContact clients, carrier and vendors for additional information Pay any COD charges as listed Arrange delivery if required Ensure accurate billing to clients Various other duties as may be requiredQualifications/ CompetenciesMinimum 5 years of experience in customs operationsKnowledge and familiarity in the related regulatory laws, including OGD requirements, Customs valuation, basic GST/HST application, temporary import regulations, etc.Knowledge of Customs Tariff, regulations and release procedures Accurate data entry skills Able to remain clam in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines Team leadership and teambuilding abilities; able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and vendorsStrong time management; able to prioritize tasksStrong research/analytical skills with high attention to details, ability to exercise good judgment to solve problems Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills in EnglishWell-organized and self-motivatedProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in ExcelEducation/CertificationsCollege diploma in customs brokerage or a related field, or combination or education and experienceCustoms Certified Specialist (CCS) designation **What We Offer!**Health Benefits (Medical, Dental & Vision Coverage)Paid Time Off (vacation & sick time)Opportunities for career growth and skill enhancementWe thank all applicants for their interest in a career with Nippon Express.
