In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our finance team by handling a variety of financial tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our financial operations. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with CIRO, internal policies, and financial reporting requirements. Review, prepare, and post monthly journal entries, including working with other teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals. Complete the weekly RAC calculations and ensure they are reviewed by the UDP (Ultimate Designated Person) on a timely basis. Perform monthly general ledger closing and prepare for internal and external reporting. Prepare monthly actual vs. budget analyses and explain trends/variances. Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with supporting schedules. Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly account reconciliations. Assist with the enhancement of the accounting software system. Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures. Drive process improvement and system implementation efforts to streamline operations and improve the quality of the close process and internal control. Assist with the bi-weekly payroll process. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration. 3-4 years of experience working in Accounting. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts. Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Basic analytical skills to assist with financial analysis tasks. Discretion in handling confidential financial information. Assets Expertise in securities industry accounting. QuickBooks Online Software knowledge. Fluently bilingual- English/French.
