As a Senior Software Developer within our Toronto Development Team, you will work researching, designing, and developing our suite of software applications. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Contribute to technical decisions affecting the development of software products Develop and maintain software for various projects in a timely manner, applying commercial computer programming skills Provide polished, creative and professional products Contribute as a member of an Agile team, utilizing Agile development processes to ensure efficiency while maintaining product suitability and quality Daily debugging, code maintenance, code review, testing for robustness and technically challenging problem solving Escalated support may require your assistance with analysis, interpretation and resolution of customer concerns Create technical documentation as required Mentor and support more junior team members To be successful in this role, you should have: University degree in Computer Science and/or compelling and extensive experience in real-world applications Minimum 7 years demonstrated web-based programming experience i.e. Web Service, SaaS, e-commerce platform, cloud processing and infrastructure. Excellent knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques Experience with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions Confident oral and written communication skills in English Experience performing code reviews and mentoring junior developers Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and build sustainable working relationships Team-oriented attitude and good conflict management skills Ability to manage your own workload effectively and to work effectively alongside team members Balanced and informed approach to problem-solving These would be considered an asset to this role: Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence Geoscience knowledge, with an emphasis on software applications Interest in mathematics Additional Information This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week in our downtown Toronto office.
