Responsibilities Were seeking a handson Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of the 24/7 Whitbt manufacturing facility, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and within quality standards. In the short term, this is an executionfocused role managing staff, optimizing processes, and maintaining equipment. Over time youll take on leadership, process improvement, and team management duties covering quality and maintenance. Key responsibilities include: Health, Safety & Environment (Food Safety) Promote and enforce workplace safety policies in compliance with occupational health regulations. Support and maintain all activities related to the Food Safety Management System. Audit safety, food safety, quality, and environmental housekeeping procedures and act on findings. Leadership & Management Direct and mentor production supervisors, shift leads, and staff to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews. Oversee recruiting, selection, onboarding, and training of the production team. Production Planning & Scheduling Participate in the annual budgeting process, justifying headcount and expense requests. Develop sound business plans and prepare justification for capital requests. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry advancements to apply innovative manufacturing practices. Work closely with Planning and Scheduling to manage production schedules, optimizing resources and minimizing downtime. Coordinate with Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Quality to ensure material availability and equipment readiness. Process Improvement & Efficiency Analyze production performance data to identify bottlenecks, minimize waste, and drive throughput improvements. Lead problemsolving efforts on safety, food safety, quality, service, waste, and efficiency issues. Collaborate with Quality to resolve complaints and testing issues and prevent recurrence. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices and SOPs. Quality & Compliance Ensure products meet quality specifications and regulatory standards. Partner with Quality to resolve issues and maintain certifications. Qualifications Preferred degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Finance, or Business Administration. Experience in blownfilm extrusion or flexible packaging is preferred. 710 years of progressive manufacturing experience, with at least 35 years in a senior leadership role. Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, safety practices, lean manufacturing, and quality control. Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex operations, and deliver results. Excellent communication, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills. Experience with ERP systems, production planning tools, and data analysis. Ability to coach and mentor staff.
