About The Role Were looking for a Casualty Claims Representative to help get our customers back on track so they can focus on what matters most. As a Casualty Adjuster within our Specialty Lines Long Haul Trucking Team, youll be part of a national group handling claims across Canada and the United States and youll also manage Ontario personal lines and commercial casualty facility claims. Responsibilities Investigate, analyze, and report on complex bodily injury claims. Manage losses throughout Canada and the United States. Handle Ontario commercial and personal line facility thirdparty bodily injury claims in our Halcion system. Work with the Facility Association and complete semiannual facility reports. Negotiate effective settlements within established authority limits, attend court proceedings, mediations, and settlement meetings. Mentor, rolemodel, and serve as a technical resource for others while staying current on insurance case law and regulatory changes. Resolve files in a timely manner with defence and plaintiff counsels at all claim levels. Interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess fair and equitable entitlements. Communicate respectfully and timely with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements. Collect reports and statements to determine liability and coverage. Qualifications Minimum of 35+ years investigating auto casualty claims. Long Haul Trucking experience is an asset. Ontario litigation, tort, and claims handling experience is required. Analytical, detailoriented, and organized. Ability to multitask and juggle competing priorities. Knowledge of provincial legislation governing auto insurance. Completed or actively pursuing CIP designation. Willingness to secure outofprovince adjusting licenses. University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role. Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
