Job Overview Diagnostic Sonographer I (0.70 FTE) at Peter Lougheed Centre, Alberta Health Services. Shift hours: 7.75. Posting end date: 20-OCT-2025. Responsibilities Perform a range of standardized and complex ultrasound services for diagnosis and monitoring of disease. Prepare patients, review history, explain procedures, and obtain diagnostic quality images. Initiate appropriate actions for abnormal findings and assist in clinical decisionmaking. Support radiologists, cardiologists, perinatologists, and interventional radiologists during procedural imaging. Provide ultrasound guidance for women's health procedures in the operating room. Perform ultrasoundguided procedures and support an active emergency department on weekends and evenings. Required Qualifications Completion of an extended diploma or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or ARDMS. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Healthcare Provider certification. Graduate from an approved ultrasound training program. Additional Required Qualifications Ability to provide imaging guidance for women's health procedures in the operating room. Ability to support interventional radiologists while performing ultrasoundguided procedures. Work independently and efficiently in a very busy emergency department on weekends and evenings. Complete a scan interview as part of the hiring process. Preferred Qualifications Vascular and BCLS certifications. Working knowledge of EPIC electronic medical records. Maternal Fetal Medicine experience. Proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Employment Details Union: HSAA Facility / PROF/TECH. Unit: PLC DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING, ULTRASOUND.
