Driver Examiner 2 - North Bay Full Time Permanent Bilingual (French & English) Starting hourly rate of $27.43 ! Serco Canada Inc. is hiring Driver Examiners to support the DriveTest Centre operations for the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario. SUMMARY / PURPOSE Evaluate the driving ability of applicants at the G2 and G license level. Evaluate the driving ability of applicants at the M2, M and controlled class (ABZ) level when qualified. Provide roadtest grades, licensing information and resolve licensing issues. Provide information and assistance related to Driver Examination services. Ensure fair and proper conduct of exams in an environment that enables candidates to perform at their best. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver excellent customer service during all Driver Examination Services. Respond to inquiries related to driver licensing and determine applicant status. Speak verbally to confirm each candidates full name and date of birth. Conduct roadtests to assess mechanics, handling, traffic law compliance and safe driving practices. Provide examination results, detail errors and areas requiring improvement. Complete evaluation forms for roadtest assessments. Attend additional testing points when applicable. Observe riding habits and skill for M2, M and controlled class tests when required. Conduct roadtest for candidates with special needs or for those with disabilities. Comply with all regulations, policies and procedures, including occupational health and safety, environmental, drug and alcohol, and quality. Adhere to all Ministry confidentiality requirements. Perform related duties as may be required. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS GED or highschool diploma minimum. Fluency in French and English. Valid Ontario Class G drivers licence. At least four years driving experience verified by licence date. Valid Class M and/or controlled class drivers licence when applicable. No more than four demerit points and three violations at all times during employment. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Knowledge of the DriveTest program, regulations and legislation preferred. Intermediate level computer skills required. Two (2) years experience with excellent customer service. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Excellent customer service skills, ability to handle difficult situations. Ability to multitask and manage a schedule. Ability to process and manage sensitive personal information. Knowledge of relevant sections of the Highway Traffic Act and related policies. Strong judgement and decisionmaking skills. Selfmanagement of a schedule within the work day. WORKING CONDITIONS Some exposure to disagreeable elements. Minor risk of injury, harm or illness. Weather related and vehicle exposure. Working hours vary based on customer demand and location operating hours. May require extended shift hours including evenings and possibly Saturday and Sunday hours during higher volume periods.
