Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer of Health and reporting to the Manager, Tuberculosis (TB) Program, the Community Engagement Specialist TB Program provides leadership and supports engagement with communities, potential service partners, families, patients and community members experiencing the impacts of TB. Key responsibilities include: Work with internal and external partners, including Inuit perspectives, to incorporate diverse perspectives into the health system. Ensure reciprocal and culturally safe influences and adaptations lead to successful interventions in the current crisis. Highlight unique needs and perspectives of Inuit and enhance dialogue, communication, consultation, and participation among stakeholders. Help integrate clinical evidence-based expertise for the identification, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of TB, incorporating Inuit healthful perspectives on TB and healing. Needed qualifications: Recognized Diploma in health care, health promotion, public health or nursing, along with two years of related experience (or equivalent). Highly Sensitive Position satisfactory Criminal Record Check and clear Vulnerable Sector Check required. Fluency in more than one Nunavut official language an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuktut and experience in a northern cross-cultural environment an asset.
