Job Title: Project Engineer Length: Contract will go to July 2026 with a strong possibility of extension Rotation: MondayFriday, with travel to Kitimat 12 weeks per month Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support a large infrastructure project in Western Canada. The ideal candidate will be based in Calgary, with availability to travel to Kitimat on a rotational basis (12 weeks/month). This role requires a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered in Alberta or British Columbia, with 812 years of experience. A strong civil engineering background is essential, particularly in the preparation of construction bid packages and proposal evaluation. Experience on LNG or other major industrial infrastructure projects is considered an asset. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and finalize concrete foundation RFPs by end of year, including scope definition, technical input, and stakeholder alignment. Develop and issue garage building foundation RFPs and other structural foundation packages. Evaluate contractor proposals for both concrete and driven pile foundations, providing structured recommendations for contract award. Support design decision-making between steel and concrete pile foundations, including involvement in a potential test pile program. Coordinate foundation construction activities (concrete and piles) in alignment with ongoing site civil and earthworks scheduled for 2026. Assess alternative foundation methods such as geogrid-reinforced platforms to support construction over sensitive river delta areas. Provide construction field engineering support during execution, spending 12 weeks per month on site to assist with issue resolution and quality oversight. Manage and respond to contractor RFIs, ensuring timely communication between design and field teams. Review and comment on vendor submittals, shop drawings, and engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project specifications and design intent.
