What Youll Deliver As a licensed automotive service technician (310S or higher), you will examine, report, estimate, order, execute, and document all automotive service work. You will supervise apprentices, attend training, keep shop clean, comply with regulations, and perform other duties as required. Examine all vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Prepare a complete report on the back of the repair order. Estimate flat rate times for each recommendation using supplied flat-rate manuals. Obtain parts prices and note availability. Perform all work as outlined on the front of the repair order and as authorized on the back, with efficiency and accuracy, and in accordance with company and factory standards. Order all parts when authorization is received, unless told otherwise. Indicate on the RO that you have done so. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or insurance, or if requested by the customer. Road-test vehicles after service any time a wheel is removed or repair affects drivability. Ensure all work is thorough, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion. Supervise the work of all apprentice technicians or students; report deficiencies to the Service Manager. Attend factory-sponsored and dealer-specified training courses as scheduled. Keep abreast of all factory technical bulletins and emerging technologies. Maintain high concentration to prevent comebacks. Ensure customer cars are kept as clean or cleaner than when they arrived. Keep shop area neat and clean at all times; clean bay and bench at end of shift; dispose of garbage, recycling, etc.; follow federal, provincial, local regulations for hazardous waste. Other duties as required by management. What You Need to Succeed You are a fully licensed (310S or higher) automotive service technician with 35 years of mechanical operations experience, a valid Ontario Drivers License, and a willingness to learn and succeed. You are teamoriented, hardworking, positive, and able to work productively in a fastpaced environment. Proven knowledge and experience with automotive mechanical operations. Work well under pressure in a fastpaced environment. Reliable and able to work productively. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Personable, reliable, courteous. Excellent diagnostic and electrical skills.
