Role Overview Join to apply for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist I role at Alberta Health Services Key Responsibilities Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging examinations including HIDA, Sentinel Nodes, WBC scans, VQs, Bones, Renals, Gastric emptying, Octreotides, Iodine therapies, Spect CTs, MIBGs. Ensure the quality of patient care at a high level and review documentation for patient identification errors. Communicate with patients, prepare, explain, and position them for examinations. Prepare and/or administer radiopharmaceutical agents as authorized. Review images for completeness of examination, sort images, and check with the Radiologist when necessary. Maintain quality control of all procedures and be responsible for safety measures and cleanliness of the area. Operate, maintain, and report malfunctions of all instrumentation and equipment. Perform daily Quality Assurance Exams on cameras and survey for radioactive contamination. Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology diploma. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Radiopharmacy skills: labeling WBCs and RBCs; making up radiopharmaceutical kits; drawing up radiopharmaceutical doses; administering/receiving therapeutic doses; storage and disposal of radioactivity. Current Basic Life Support certification. ACMDTT certified. Ability to work independently, mentor students, collaborate with Radiologists. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of Connect Care. CTIC certified. Effective team environment skills. Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification.
