Overview Title : Maintenance Planner Department : Maintenance Reports To : Maintenance Manager Job Summary The Maintenance Planner is responsible for maximizing equipment availability by effectively using planned and scheduled maintenance practices. This individual will utilize their knowledge to prioritize, plan and schedule Maintenance work orders. Communication with multiple departments is a core task so that all areas are properly covered with respect to equipment maintenance. This role will require in depth use of the CMMS, Computerized Maintenance Management System, as well as the Maintenance digital library to ensure plant equipment has maximized uptime. It requires a large amount of collaboration with various departments, suppliers, and contractors. Summary of Essential Job Functions Responsibilities will include creating a weekly schedule for trades, planning priority and weekend work orders. Utilizing and overseeing the PM program within the CMMS is a key role for the Planner. Manage day to day requirements of the maintenance schedule, WO backlog and workflow processes. Work directly with production departments regarding machine / equipment availability, PM scheduling, work order prioritization and job completion. Will be required to participate in Root Cause Analysis to reduce future downtime events. The planner will measure, analyze and publish periodic maintenance metrics for the department. Assist in the scheduling and plan maintenance shutdowns by working directly with the Production and the Annual Overhaul schedule. Will be required to work directly with trades to provide guidance and direction to complete weekly schedule. Position Requirements Diploma in related field (Maintenance Management Professional, certified trades certificate, or Project Management) and / or minimum of 5 years experience in related field. Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Software and data entry systems such as Excel, Visio and MS Project. Communication Clearly convey information and coordinate effectively with maintenance teams, supervisors, and other departments. Time Management Effectively schedule and manage various maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion and minimize disruptions. Ability to direct and coordinate both internal trades and contractors. Requires a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality. Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor. Proactive Approach Focus on future work, optimize preventive maintenance, and align critical tasks with plant shutdowns to improve equipment availability. Strong internal customer service focus seeking ways to consistently deliver a positive customer experience. Work Conditions Required work in office, plant, and warehouse environments. May travel to vendors and suppliers. Ability to physically inspect equipment and plant processes.
