Company Description Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package. The project will strengthen Ontarios economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction. Project Overview Ontario Line is a six-kilometer tunnel from Exhibition to Don Yard portal. Stations include one above-ground at GO Transit Exhibition Station, two underground integrated with TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations, and four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown). Benefits to Ontario Improve the quality of life for commuters by reducing daily travel time. Reduce crowding on the existing Line 1 (Yonge-University) subway. Up to 57,000 more jobs accessible by transit (in 45 minutes or less) for Toronto residents. Economic and community growth along the future transit line and thousands of job opportunities annually during construction. Reduction in traffic congestion, greenhouse gases, and fuel consumption by providing an alternative transportation option. Job Description Ensure all OTG construction sites comply with local health and safety regulations, codes, and industry standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Assist in the development and delivery of safety training programs for employees, subcontractors, and suppliers. Facilitate incident reporting and investigation processes, including nearmiss reporting, and work with teams to implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, safety inspection findings, and training records. Promote safety awareness by facilitating safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns. Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans. Identify opportunities for safety improvement and collaborate with project teams to implement safety enhancements. Evaluate the safety performance of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet OTG's safety standards. Stay informed about changes in health and safety regulations, codes, and best practices, and communicate relevant updates to project teams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in health and safety roles, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry. Knowledge of local health and safety regulations, codes, and industry standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis. Commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
