Our client specializes in the design, development, and production of advanced mechanical and automation systems used across automotive and industrial sectors. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng) to join their growing engineering team. This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to work on a wide range of custom projects from concept through to installation in a collaborative, high-performing environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the mechanical design and development of machinery, automated equipment, and material handling systems. Conduct feasibility studies, research, and analysis on design concepts, materials, and performance. Prepare 3D models, detailed drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation using advanced CAD tools. Perform design calculations to ensure product safety, functionality, and manufacturability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative engineering solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards. Oversee and support prototype builds, testing, installation, and commissioning of equipment. Review and stamp engineering drawings and documents as a licensed P.Eng. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, designers, and mechanical technologists. Investigate and troubleshoot design issues or mechanical failures during production or field implementation. Qualifications & Experience Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters degree an asset). Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design within automation, tooling, or manufacturing industries. Proficiency in leading mechanical design software such as: SolidWorks AutoCAD (2D/3D) Autodesk Inventor CATIA, NX, or similar (asset) Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, and assembly practices. Excellent understanding of GD&T, mechanical design principles, and industrial safety standards. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
