Job Description

The Mold Test Technician is responsible for ensuring complete and thorough qualification of customer molds. This may also include validation of new machine options and functionality as part of a System test or machine upgrade. The successful candidate will have a well-rounded grasp of mechanical, electrical, and control systems enabling him or her to be able to successfully diagnose issues and understand when and how to involve the appropriate supporting Husky teams to resolve all issues prior to customer acceptance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Ability to self-manage daily tasks to achieve customer buyoff of Molds and Molding Systems for Husky customers by: Clearly communicating both verbally and in writing the project status daily to management, project stakeholders, and customers. Display and maintain a professional attitude, demonstrating Husky values by your actions and words in all internal and external customer interactions. Adept with hand tools for mold installation and removal, services hookups Valid crane license required Valid forklift license required Ability to read engineering drawings and setup guides, and translate this information into machine inputs for correct mold and machine operation. Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical circuits is an asset. Understanding of plastic processing methodology and the influence on plastic quality resulting from process changes. Basic understanding of statistics, Cm and Cmk concepts and application. Ability to learn, see, and understand visual part defects, diagnose root cause, and take actions necessary to eliminate. Team player able to interact with a supporting team to define and document test plans and results. Basic understanding of mold assembly and mechanical interactions within PET and other molds is an asset. Knowledge of Husky machine platforms is an asset. (Hylectric, HyCAP, HyPET, HyPET HPP, HyPAC) Familiarity with basic Microsoft Windows software suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel) as well as basic computer skills such as copying, saving and renaming files. Assist in the preparation of procedural documentation and checklists Ability to follow pre-test work instructions to ensure global testing consistency Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are met Prepare and complete detailed documentation summarizing mold testing and performance information Demonstrate initiative, integrity, team skills and a proactive approach to quality. QUALIFICATIONS: College Technician or Technologist with mechanical, electrical, electronic diploma or equivalent experience. EXPERIENCE 3 7 years relevant experience.
