ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a Core Logging Geologist to join our team at the Treasure Island Project near Grand Falls-Windsor Newfoundland and Labrador. This field-based position is ideal for geologists who thrive in hands-on exploration environments and want to play a key role in advancing one of Canada's most promising gold projects. You'll be responsible for logging drill core, collecting and interpreting geological data, and supporting the discovery and development of new gold resources. Working alongside an experienced technical team, you'll gain valuable exposure to active exploration in one of Canada's most dynamic and fast-growing gold districts. Schedule: 15 days on (including travel days), followed by 13 days off; daily schedule from 8AM to 6PM. WE WILL TRUST YOU TO... (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES) Reporting to the Project Geologist or their designate, the Core Logging Geologist will play a key role in supporting Sokoman's exploration programs at the Treasure Island Project. Drill Core Logging: Perform detailed logging of drill core, recording lithology, veining, alteration, and mineralization. Sampling: Select and mark assay sampling intervals according to company protocols and ensure proper sample procedures are followed. Support and Coordination: Monitor drilling progress and coordinate with diamond drill contractors and other team members. Periodically perform field activities related to visiting diamond drill sites. Data Management: Enter and manage data, including historical data, in company databases and geological software (MX Deposit, Leapfrog Geo), ensuring accuracy and adherence to company procedures. Geological Modelling: Assist with creating geological models using Leapfrog software. Geological Field Work: As required working in the field to conduct surficial mapping and various sampling types (rock, soil, till). Safety and Standards: Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards, and ensure data collection conforms to industry best practices. Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform other related duties as required. YOU WILL NEED TO BE/BRING... (QUALIFICATIONS) Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field of study. Experience: Previous experience in mineral exploration or core logging is preferred; familiarity with gold exploration is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficient in geological software such as MX Deposit, Leapfrog Geo, or similar data management platforms. Licensing: A valid Canadian driver's licence. Field Readiness: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving core boxes weighing up to 50lbs, and working safely in variable outdoor conditions. Attention to Detail: Strong observational, analytical, and documentation skills to ensure data quality and consistency.
