This role is ideal for a proven leader who can balance **precision in numbers with practical field knowledge**, ensuring our crews deliver exceptional service and our clients see measurable value. ### **Ideal Candidate** - **Estimator at Heart** Confident in analyzing drawings, specifications, and scopes of work, and turning them into accurate, profitable estimates. - **Sales-Oriented Professional** Skilled at building client trust, presenting proposals, and closing opportunities while protecting margins. - **Operationally Grounded** Understands how estimates play out in the field and bridges the gap between the numbers and real-world crew performance. - **Leadership Experience** Provides mentorship to field staff and supports foremen with planning, efficiency, and quality standards. - **Financially Savvy** Comfortable tracking job costs, identifying variances, and improving division profitability. - **Problem-Solver** Thrives on process improvement, efficiency gains, and finding practical solutions to client and crew challenges. - **Collaborative Communicator** Works seamlessly with designers, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success. **Duties and Responsibilities** ***Estimation & Sales Leadership*** - Lead estimating residential and commercial maintenance projects, ensuring accuracy in time, labour, and materials. - Prepare and manage bids, tenders, RFQs, and RFPs with a focus on profitability and client value. - Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, professional proposals, and strategic upselling. - Negotiate contracts and close opportunities in alignment with company pricing models and margin goals. ***Operational & Financial Oversight*** - Track job costs vs. estimates; analyze variances and implement corrective actions to protect margins. - Partner with Operations to align estimates with real-time production data. - Provide forecasting and input into divisional budgets, helping drive efficiency and long-term profitability. - Ensure Aspire records, work orders, and project files are accurate and current ***Crew Management & Field Coordination*** - Oversee field mobilization: staffing, scheduling, material readiness, and site setup. - Support foremen and lead hands in daily task planning, production tracking, and quality assurance. - Conduct site walks to verify installation quality, schedule adherence, and safety compliance. - Mentor, train, and coach field staff to improve efficiency, workmanship, and client satisfaction. ***Process & Continuous Improvement*** - Identify operational gaps and implement improved workflows in estimating, scheduling, and client delivery. - Champion best practices in maintenance operations, from crew deployment to client reporting. - Contribute to division-wide performance reviews, KPI tracking, and continuous training. - Collaborate cross-functionally with warehouse, operations, and design teams to streamline systems. **Qualifications** - Minimum 5+ years experience in **landscape maintenance estimation, sales, and operations management.** - Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and managing crews. - Strong financial acumen with a track record of improving efficiency, margins, and client retention. - Proficiency in Aspire or similar operational/ERP systems (preferred). - Knowledge of Edmonton zone plant material and commercial/residential maintenance best practices. - Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple bids, projects, and deadlines simultaneously. - Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident in presenting proposals and negotiating with clients. - Detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and operationally minded. - Valid Class 5 drivers license and clean driver''s abstract. **Benefits** - Year-round employment - Group Benefits and Health Spending Account after three (3) months - Wellness Program - Employer Family Assistance Plan (EFAP) with 24/7 short-term counselling and wellness services.
