JSI is seeking an experienced technical writer to help create and maintain technical documentation in the area of core platform Engineering. This role will collaborate with variety of users and audiences both internal to Product Development as well as outside facing: Operations, Technical support, and Customer System Administrators. Responsibilities: Create, organize,andmaintainengineering documentation such as system manuals, how-to guides, release manuals, knowledge base articles, and troubleshootingguides. Create, validate,and maintain comprehensive technical and operational documentation including but not limited to operational procedures, deployment guides, and upgrade documentation. Gather information from subject-matter experts, compile, develop, organize, and write technical specifications, design decision records and processdocumentation. Act as the engineering documentation coordinator/ work with development and supportleads. Work closely withdocumentationteam to conform/adhere to the necessary corporate documentation standards andnorms. Develop,implement,andmaintainnecessary documentationtemplates. Evaluate current content and develop/implement innovative methods for improvement (style guides, content templates, best practices). Act as the user advocate and provide consistent voice across alldocumentation. Required Qualifications: 4-7years of experience as an effective technical writer. Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subjectmatter. Experience inwriting documentation and procedure manuals for variousaudiences. Experience performing softwaredeploysand troubleshooting skills will be a big plus Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. Experience working with engineers todisseminate,writeandvalidateprocedural content. Ability to handle multiple projectssimultaneously. Curiousand have a learningmindset. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in technology, communications, or relevant technical field. Firm understanding of SDLC (systems development lifecycle) Experiencein software development or QA. Professional certification (ex: Society for Technical Communication) Experience with document encoding (XML, markdown,json,yaml) Experience with content management tools (Share point, Confluence, mkdocs) Experience with configuration management tools (JIRA, TFS) Experience with source control tools (Git) is aplus. Experience working in an agile developmentenvironment. Project management experience is anasset.
