Reporting to the Manager, P&C Telecom South, this position will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for the operation and maintenance of the AltaLink Transmission system with a focus on the Telecommunications system and P&C. The successful candidate will be required to follow all AltaLink work methods, policies and procedures and will be expected to reside in the greater Calgary area. START DATE: May 2026, TERM LENGTH: 4 months. Job Description Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain Protection & Control and Telecommunication devices associated with AltaLink's transmission system. Interact constructively with Field Operations, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, System Operations, and other departments within AltaLink. Develop Field Level Hazard Assessments/Safe Work Plans and perform P&C Telecommunications work safely, ensuring a high level of reliability to our customers. Trouble response for Protection & Control and Telecommunication equipment in the area. Assist and support other disciplines as required. Requirements: Fulltime student enrolled in a related and recognized twoyear Electrical, Wireless, Telecom, or Electronics Engineering Technology program. Be competent and comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to build rapport. Demonstrated problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines. Strong timemanagement and organizational skills. Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid Class 5 driver's license with satisfactory driving record. Capable of passing physical fitness and medical requirements. Able to work alone with minimum supervision and respond to afterhours trouble calls. Willing to accept outoftown working conditions. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
