About the job Tarco is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, particularly within the oil and gas sector. This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and detailing mechanical systems and products, ensuring they meet industry standards and client specifications. What youll do Develop detailed design drawings for mechanical equipment, piping, and systems using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to design, lay out, and detail components and systems. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs. Modify and revise designs to improve operations or to reduce fabrication and installation challenges. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company processes / standards. Conduct occasional site visits to help define scope and plan preliminary designs. Who you are Basic understanding of PLC systems and industrial instrumentation is an asset. Technical Diploma in Drafting Technology or similar. Experienced in mechanical drafting & design, preferably in the oil and gas industry minimum 1 year. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Plant3D, CadWorx). Knowledgeable in industry standards, design codes, drafting standards and symbology. Detail Oriented. A good communicator and team member. Knowledge of industry standards and design codes.
