Lead, Career Development CNIB Base Pay Range CA$48,888.00/yr CA$61,110.00/yr Location Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta Reports To Manager, Talent Pool Summary I. Scope & Summary of Primary Responsibilities The Lead, Career Development is responsible for overseeing caseload management and employment development activities for the Come to Work Program in the Province. This role provides direct support to Talent Pool who are blind, Deafblind or have low vision, empowering them to achieve meaningful employment through individualized career plans and tailored oneonone support. By collaborating with the Lead, Employer Engagement, the Lead runs intensive employment cohorts, offers career assessments and coaching, and provides ongoing job retention supportparticularly for clients at risk of losing employment due to sight loss. The Lead ensures clients receive the tools, guidance, and followup needed for longterm career success, while maintaining detailed and accurate records. Essential Functions Oversee caseload management and career development activities for Talent Pool, ensuring personalized service delivery and progress tracking. Collaborate with the Lead, Employer Engagement to design and deliver intensive employment cohorts, aligning workready clients with fully engaged and activated employer partners. Work directly with Talent Pool to implement individual employment plans, guiding them toward meaningful and sustainable job opportunities. Provide job retention support to clients at risk of losing employment due to sight loss, ensuring necessary accommodations and interventions are in place. Conduct career assessments, oneonone coaching, and followup sessions to address barriers and ensure ongoing career advancement. Maintain accurate and detailed records of Talent Pools progress as well as employment attainment, maintenance and retention outcomes in appropriate Portal, CRM and database. Support the development of best practices in employment service delivery, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation. Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to strengthen opportunities for client success. Supervise Program Coordinator(s) and Intern(s) as required. Participate in special projects and events as required. Qualifications Strong knowledge of career assessment tools, job search strategies, and employment readiness approaches. Demonstrated ability to coach clients oneonone. Knowledge of disability inclusion, workplace accommodation and accessibility, and employment supports for individuals who are blind, Deafblind, or partially sighted is a strong asset. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed, accurate records. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with Talent Pool and the team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and client management systems; comfort learning new digital tools and databases. Working knowledge of Salesforce is an asset. Experience & Education Postsecondary degree or diploma in career development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, human services, or a related field; a combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered. Minimum 23 years of experience in employment services, career development, or related caseload management, ideally within disability or workforce development contexts. Experience in the nonprofit or public sector an asset. Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss as an asset. Certifications or Designations Career Development Practitioner Certification (CCDP/CDP) Certification to administrate career counselling tools an asset. Work Environment Hybrid work environment; required to work in the office weekly Required to work flexible hours to support Talent Pool needs Able to work independently and within the team Occasional travel within the province to meet Talent Pool.
