Manager, Produce Thrifty Foods is looking for an experienced Produce Manager to lead our retail produce department, ensuring highquality customer service, fiscal responsibility, and a positive work environment. Key Responsibilities Coach, motivate, and develop department staff to foster customer loyalty and engagement. Maintain fiscal responsibility of the department, managing budgets, labour costs, inventory control, product presentation, and merchandising in accordance with company standards. Create a coaching and development culture for all store employees, demonstrating outstanding leadership and serving as a role model. Manage direct reports, including selection, orientation, training, performance management, succession planning, and compensation. Ensure smooth store operations, communicating requirements and changes to department employees as needed. Enhance the customer shopping experience through exceptional product knowledge, promotion awareness, and seasonal trend awareness. Order, receive, organize, rotate, merchandise, and present products and stock to meet customer needs. Provide superior customer service to meet and exceed customer expectations. Adhere to all applicable company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including Occupational Health & Safety, food safety, and other relevant protocols. Maintain a thorough understanding of company programs, attend required training, and implement updates. Monitor and analyze department financial performance, conduct sales forecasting, variance analysis, and labour cost control to maximize sales and margins. Engage employees, promote a positive culture, and support community and charitable events. Coordinate maintenance of department equipment and repairs, providing feedback for continuous improvement. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company requirements. Required Qualifications Minimum 18 months of retail store experience, with produce experience preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent. Proven knowledge of total store and department operations. Experience reading and analyzing financial reports and developing/budgeting departmental budgets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills (oral and written). Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment.
