The Role We are seeking an experienced full-time Project Manager to work for our Southern Alberta division out of our Calgary office. This position reports directly to the General Manager Alberta South . The Project Manager is responsible for driving project success through strong planning, coordination, and site execution. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with 5+ years of project management experience related to CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) and CIP (Cast-in-Place) drilling, micro piles, shoring wall systems (lagging, anchors, shotcrete), and horizontal/vertical drilling for commercial, mixed-use, high-rise, and institutional projects. The preferred candidate has a CET and/or PMP designation , with Project Engineering experience. In addition to project execution, about 10% of your time will be spent on business development , strengthening relationships with existing clients and identifying new project opportunities. Your technical expertise, leadership, and client-focused mindset will be key to growing our presence in Alberta South. Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Overtime as required. Start and end times may vary as per project requirements. About 70% of your time will be spent in the office and 30% will be spent working on site. Frequent travel in and around Calgary is required and occasionally, out of town and the province. Competitive salary negotiable based on experience. Responsibilities / Job Duties Manage multiple projects throughout southern Alberta in accordance with contract documents. Estimating and pre-construction required. Understand basic revenue, progress billing, Profit/loss and cost-to-completion projections and make decisions accordingly. Promote and adhere to DSD's HSE, Environmental and quality control management system. Facilitate regular and timely team and client meetings in which expectations are set out and managed. Create turnover package to superintendents for project execution. Lead a team of Supervisors and foremen to ensure smooth project execution as well as adherence to budgets and schedules. Requisition of supplies and materials to complete construction projects. Create and execute project work and quality control plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Dedicate at least 10% of your time to business development related activities. Work with other divisions within the company to ensure all disciplines are being utilized. Work with fleet maintenance department to ensure equipment maintenance priorities are met. Work with senior leadership in planning for resource allocation. Required Skills Experience with CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) and CIP (Cast in Place) drilling, micro piles, shoring walls lagging, anchors, shotcrete as well as horizontal and vertical drilling. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other systems (Primavera). Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships. In-depth understanding of the various disciplines involved in the construction process. Handson management style with emphasis on project planning and execution. Experience managing projects from $20,000 $20,000,000. Effective time management and organizational skills to handle competing priorities. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to connect with diverse audiences. Selfmotivated, independent, shows initiative and drives tasks to completion. Education / Qualifications / Training Minimum of 5+ years experience as a Project Manager in construction. A valid class 5 drivers license and a good abstract required. Ideal candidate has a CET and/or PMP designation. P. Eng with APEGA Membership would be considered an asset. Business development experience considered an asset.
