Job Summary We are looking for an Educational Research & Development Designer to create educational content for learners across Canada. This role will be split between research and development and curriculum design, providing the successful candidate the opportunity to develop inclusive, engaging learning resources while exploring practical teaching strategies to share with the team. The ideal candidate has a teaching background or experience as a research assistant, enjoys developing evidencebased learning materials, works well with subject matter experts, and applies standard practices in pedagogy and assessment. Responsibilities Research & Development Conduct research to inform the design of innovative educational content and teaching strategies. Explore and pilot new educational technologies, tools, and delivery methods. Collect and analyze feedback from learners, educators, and subject matter experts to refine learning materials. Develop resources that incorporate inclusive practices and address diverse learning needs. Collaborate with crossdepartmental teams on R&D initiatives, including piloting STEAM programming. Curriculum Design Design and develop educational content for high school and preemployment learners aligned with provincial and territorial curricula. Write clear, measurable learning objectives and align all teaching materials to these objectives. Apply curriculum writing and review processes to ensure content quality and compliance. Integrate assessment practices and adapt materials based on learner outcomes. Incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to accommodate diverse learning styles. Attributes and Qualifications Equal consideration will be given to nonacademic skills and experiences of candidates. Bachelors degree in education or a related field; Masters is an asset. Teaching diploma or valid teaching license in Ontario, Alberta, or B.C. is an asset. 23 years of fulltime teaching experience or equivalent experience in educational content development. Experience as a research assistant during education is an asset. Strong understanding of pedagogical principles and STEAM education. Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and collaborate across teams. Experience working with high school or adult learners is preferred.
