Safety Coordinator Rail Join SYSTRA Canada as a Safety Coordinator Rail . SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group, an international consulting and engineering company focusing on transportation infrastructures. Context This role will support the Safety Lead on a Subways project. Responsibilities Support Occupational Safety, Health, & Wellbeing strategies in conjunction with client organization. Collaborate and influence client teams to implement and maintain an OS&HW program. Undertake focused integrated functional assurance reviews to ensure best practice across all applicable projects. Champion transformational Occupational Safety, Health & Wellbeing initiatives and drive implementation with alliance partners. Support a dynamic lessonslearnt and business improvement process for Occupational Safety, Health & Wellbeing. Produce required reports and input data for reporting. Ensure delivery of Occupational Safety, Health & Wellbeing initiatives internally with the MCS team and with Metrolinx. Work with the Safety Manager to develop bestpractice guides, training, presentations, briefing packages and deliver to the target audience based on their role/reponsibilities within the program. Conduct regular safety inspections/audits of jobsites and adjacent areas, taking timely corrective actions to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions. Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to the project stakeholders as appropriate. Collect required reports for records and evaluations of safety program performance. Ensure timely reporting of incidents. Ensure corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) related to incidents, observations, audits, and inspections are tracked and completed on time. Ensure CAPA effectiveness and followup. Ensure all contractors and subcontractors comply with jobsite safety rules and regulations. Verify that all applicable Metrolinx and regulatory policies and procedures have been implemented on project sites. Supply info for HSE KPIs to the Safety Director to promote continuous improvement initiatives on a monthly basis. Perform any additional duties as required to support deliverables and key activities during ASP1. Qualifications Technical Competencies Injury management and incident investigation experience. Field safety audit and inspection experience. Profound knowledge of OHS legislations. Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. Experience meeting schedule expectations and delivering work on time. Strong technical knowledge of safety procedures. Experience in safety training, investigations, performance indicators. Experience with multidisciplinary rail and transit projects, or complex civil infrastructure in brownfield/urban environments. Wellorganized and superb timemanagement skills. Position requires honesty, dependability, and responsibility. Education and Qualifications Diploma or certificate in Health and Safety, or equivalent training and experience. Professional designation required NCSO, CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent. Minimum of five (5) years of direct onsite safety management experience and knowledge of health and safety practices. Experience in tunnel construction safety is required. Experience with railroad and/or transit construction projects is an asset.
