Job Overview Language Trainers is a successful language training company that works with freelance teachers of 70 different languages in hundreds of towns and cities across the world. Students are either incompany or selffunded and need to learn a language at their office or at home for work, family or travel reasons. Reference Number: 1066809 Position We are looking for an Afrikaans teacher to deliver onetoone general Afrikaans classes for a client located in Toronto, M6J 2K8. The student is a Masters candidate in History at the University of Toronto who requires basic Afrikaans skills for research purposes. The course consists of 30 hours, with twohour lessons twice a week. Student Profile Current language level: Beginner Motivation: The student is focusing on southern African history and needs to read historical documents, conduct oral history interviews, etc. The student has no knowledge of Afrikaans and will start with the basics. Age group: 1824 (B) Teaching Requirements Be a native Afrikaans speaker or hold a teaching degree Have experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter Hold a valid working visa Live within 20 miles of the clients location Location & Schedule The classes can be held at the students office, home or a quiet caf in Toronto. Some sessions will take place online while the student is out of town. Availability is flexible; the student is available all day Monday, anytime after 3pm on Wednesday, anytime on Thursday, anytime on Friday, and on weekends. Mornings are preferable and the student wishes to start as soon as possible. Contract Details This is a freelance parttime position.
