As part of this growing team, you will be involved in meaningful work that combines great projects, great people, and a great environment your life and career will surely become an adventure.About the Role:The Onboarding and Development Specialist is responsible for managing the onboarding and development processes. They will develop and implement a comprehensive 1-year onboarding program, ensuring the structured, efficient, and positive integration of new and current staff into the company.Responsibilities:Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of the 1-year onboarding process and the transition to continuous development.Collaborate with Human Resources, Operations, IT, and Management to ensure a smooth and successful integration for all staff.Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the onboarding program, including project plans, timelines, role-based competency matrices, assessments, and milestones (30-, 60-, 90-, 180-, 270-, and 365-day marks).Oversee the design and coordination of role-specific training programs (e.g., checklists, LMS, training dashboard, required OHS certificates, site orientation, etc.).Recruit and train the Mentor Guild; set coaching cadence and establish pass/fail criteria.Convert SOPs into drills, demos, and capstone projects.Conduct regular check-ins with employees, supervisors, and management to ensure onboarding progress and address concerns.Coordinate periodic performance reviews with employees and supervisors, implementing close feedback loops and developing and introducing ad-hoc training and development plans.Oversee the distribution of cohort scorecards and report outcomes (time-to-productivity, quality, safety, retention).Proactively identify and address bottlenecks or risks in the onboarding and development processes, providing recommendations and solutions to upper management.Maintain and update employee records and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and applicable legislative requirements. Support HR initiatives and projects that enhance employee engagement, communication, and company culture.Provide guidance to management and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.Other responsibilities or directives as assigned.What Youll Bring:Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Operations, Project Management, or a related field is requiredAt least 5+ years of experience in onboardingProven experience developing and implementing a large-scale onboarding programSolid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and toolsKnowledge of employment law, OHS regulations, and workplace safety practicesExperience in the plumbing, construction, or mechanical industries is an assetExceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departmentsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and effective file management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentProficient technological skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Bilingualism (English and French) is an assetWhat We Offer:Balanced and flexible work hoursCompetitive salary, benefits package, and pension plan Paid vacation time and sick/floater daysLaptopAdditional Information:TPH Plumbing and Heating is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
