JOB ADVERTISEMENT Heavy Equipment TechnicianTitle of Position: Heavy Equipment Technician (NOC Code 72401)Employer Name: FST Canada Inc. o/a Joe Johnson Equipment (JJE)Company description: As a leading distributor of public works equipment, Joe Johnson Equipment provides mobile infrastructure maintenance equipment to municipalities and contractorsacross Canada and theU.S. Through our branch network, we sell, rent, lease, service and support vacuum trucks, refuse and recycling collection vehicles, street sweepers, snow removalequipment, mowing equipment, sewer cleaners and inspection cameras.Locations of Work: Calgary: 12274 44th Street SE, Calgary, Alberta, T2Z 4A2 Edmonton: 1002 15Ave., Nisku, Alberta, T9E 7S5 *The successful applicant may be required to work at either location based on the needs of the business.Language of Work: EnglishVacancies: 1Terms of Employment: Permanent, full timeJob Duties:Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJEPreform mechanical repairs, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting on a variety of equipment.Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiencyDiagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required both in shop setting and in the field.Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspectionsCommunicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changesMaintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service vanSkills, Experience and Education Required:Completion of secondary school or equivalent experienceTrade certificate through Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT), or the ability to obtain certification3 years of experience in repair and service of heavy equipment both in the shop and in the field preferredProficient with computersExperienced with hydraulic and electrical workChassis experience considered an assetExposure to street sweepers, Vacuum trucks or refuse equipment considered an asset.Safety consciousTeam player with positive attitudeWage and Hours of Work:The $40.00 to $44.00 per hour. The compensation may vary depending on the applicants level of experience, qualifications and other factors.
