Overview Our retail Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is vital to delivering a distinctive shopping experience. The ASM is primarily responsible for working collaboratively with the Store Manager (SM) and company management to manage, maintain and supervise day-to-day retail operations at the store location. Responsibilities Motivate and inspire team members to be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking. Support the SM and team members with positive and constructive feedback to help them grow professionally. Ensure team understanding of work procedures and policies; follow written SOPs as changes occur and ensure compliance among the team. Be accessible and responsive to team questions, suggestions, and concerns; help resolve conflicts. Lead by example and work with staff to handle circumstances in a high-volume retail store. Utilize customer and team member feedback to implement changes that improve the customer experience. Track store and employee performance daily to ensure optimal results. Maintain store compliance with all local, state and federal regulations; organize and communicate required reporting and state tracking system recording. Assist SMs with inventory, sales, and compliance audits; perform daily opening and closing procedures. Ensure the sales floor is adequately stocked at all times; coordinate with management for inventory audits and reconciliations. Ensure expired/damaged/returned product is logged and disposed of according to regulations. Assist in receiving and ensuring AGCO/wholesale deliveries are compliant and accurate compared to invoices. Provide daily correspondence via email and managers log with the team as needed. Comply with all HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosures; maintain a clean and organized work environment. Maintain required licenses (CannSell from AGCO) and pass a background check; possess or obtain Cannabis Retail Manager License from AGCO within the first month of employment as disclosed to AGCO. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience managing in a Unionized environment; knowledge of Cannabis plants, strains, and AGCO retail standards. Ability to work nights, holidays, weekends, and across different locations. Qualifications 4-5+ years of retail management experience. Must successfully pass an extensive background check. Strong leadership, time management, prioritization, and communication skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Knowledgeable about the cannabis industry and applicable laws and policies. Detail-oriented, proactive, organized, flexible, and empathetic.
