Position Details Position Title: HR Specialist Coaldale Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Coaldale Grade: Grade 04 Requisition ID: 38975 About The Role We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join us in Coaldale, AB. This position will report directly to the Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). The HR Specialist is responsible for providing local HR support in four main areas leveraging knowledge of local / regional / cultural nuances and handling unique language and time zone requirements. Key Responsibilities Employee Engagement / Employee Experience / Retention Talent Acquisition and onboarding of High-Volume roles (Plant, Manufacturing and related) and internal recruitment process Manage in-scope employee leave of absence process Support managers and employees with employee and/or labour relations issues. Activities may include conducting investigations, managing appeals, addressing misconduct, issuing corrective action Partner with Talent Acquisition for local high volume recruitment efforts, maintaining job requisitions, running events, sourcing candidates, developing local candidate pool, managing internal posting process Execute onboarding of new hires Process voluntary and involuntary separations, mitigating risks, and manage life cycle processes and leaves of absence/accommodations to deploy employee wellness initiatives Share insights and trends with stakeholders to improve HR customer service delivery Ensure HR Operating Model adherence and maintain high employee self-service & HRNow adoption rates Support business and HR initiatives, programs, and projects in support of the winning culture Manage in-scope employee leave of absence process and coordinate with vendor Work with Occupational Health Lead on gradual return to work plans What Youll Need To Be Successful Employee engagement Our Voice Survey process improvement Employee self-service rates, HRNow adoption rates Absenteeism rates, turnover rates, vacancy rates SLA adherence and systems maintenance, ensuring data is correct in system Qualifications 1-3 years of experience as a HR Generalist or related progressive HR experience Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred Professional Human Resources certification is considered an asset Skills & Abilities Relationship building Policy, regulation, and employment law interpretation Analytical skills, attention to detail Communication HRIS experience, technology adept Business acumen Behaviours Integrity Empathy and compassion Detail-oriented Curious Self-aware Dependable / reliable Courageous Collaborative Resilient Sense of urgency About The Team Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the HR Specialist is an individual contributor to the department while maintaining a strong crossfunctional relationship with business stakeholders, leaders, and personnel.
