Overview An Embedded Software Engineer opportunity with HID to contribute to proprietary low-power wireless products and develop manufacturing tools, ensuring adherence to coding standards and participating in the full product lifecycle from concept to production. Job ID: 41593 Role: Embedded Software Engineer Were seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to the development of proprietary low-power wireless products. This role involves embedded software design using C/C++ and assembler across 16/32-bit microcontroller architectures, including ARM Cortex. The engineer will also develop manufacturing tools, ensure adherence to coding standards, and participate in the full product lifecyclefrom concept to production. Responsibilities Developing software tools for manufacturing level programming and quality control of products based on various embedded microcontroller architectures Designing and developing embedded software for 16/32-bit microcontroller architectures, using C/C++ and assembler, on multiple RTOS Developing thoroughly documented software adhering to coding standards criteria Participating in overall embedded product development design from conception to manufacturing introduction Writing and maintenance of design documentation Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Computer or Electrical Engineering required Minimum 2-4 years experience as a development engineer for low power wireless devices and/or manufacturing software tools Experience with development of software tools utilizing JTAG, UART programming Understanding of BLE protocol at expert level with ability to work within BLE stack Experience with ARM Cortex platform and development tools (additional experience with ARC platform is a significant advantage) In-depth experience with various serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.) Expertise in utilization of JTAG software tools for low level access to MCU resources Experience with leveraging RTOS in very low power embedded development (knowledge of FreeRTOS, Keil RTOS, QPC is an advantage) Experience with at least one CAD tool used for electrical and PCB design Good understanding of low-level management of computer resources on Windows and Mac machines (USB ports, Ethernet ports, serial ports) Experience with Jira / Confluence Reasonable knowledge of Microsoft Office suite What we can offer you Competitive salary and rewards package Competitive benefits and annual leave offering, allowing for work-life balance A vibrant, welcoming & inclusive culture Extensive career development opportunities and resources to maximize your potential To be a part of a global organization that is pioneering the hardware, software and services that allow people to confidently navigate the physical and digital worlds Why apply Empowerment: Youll work as part of a global team in a flexible work environment, learning and enhancing your expertise. The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions and may vary by location. The base salary for this role is $85,000 to $90,000 .
